Welcome to a new feature on Divination Hollow Reviews! Each month, we’ll bring you our top recommendations from each of our contributors, letting you know what they’ve been enjoying and think you should check out, too!

Elle:

My Lady Jane
TV Series

This is one for the paranormal romance girlies – really fun Tudor era historical fantasy featuring shifters and a fight for the throne, centred on the IRL short-lived queen, Jane Grey.

Dai:
A Parliament of Rooks By Abigail Jill Harding and Richard Starkings

Comic

I recently enjoyed the five-issue comic series A Parliament of Rooks, classically gothic, romantic, horrific, with stunning artwork

Madison:
Crom Cruach
Novella

Folk horror released in 2022 by Tenebrous Press, Crom Cruach is written like an epic poem, and follows the residents of an Irish village whose uneasy coexistence is threatened by a series of brutal slayings - Loughcrewe's writing fuses occultism with gritty realism, showing us around a powder keg of a town populated by flawed, lifelike characters with complex backstories and conflicted motivations.

Dee:
The Three-Body Problem
Novel

This is a great sci-fi series with some cosmic horror vibes in the first book – it’s definitely a denser, “hard” sci-fi series, but well worth it.

Jason:
GhostopolisStory and Art by Doug TenNapel
Graphic Novel

This is a young adult graphic novel that manages to be dark, genuinely funny, and wholesome, all at the same time.

Kayla:

Wait Till Hele Comes: A Ghost Story Graphic Novel Adapted by Scott Peterson, Meredith Laxton, and Russ Badget
Graphic Novel

This graphic novel adaptation of Mary Downing Hahn’s famous WAIT TILL HELEN COMES is a perfect read for kids (and adults, let’s be real) who love a good ghost story and beautiful, expressive artwork.

Chelsea:

Midnight Mass

TV Series

I rewatched this the other day and had forgotten how deep, thoughtful, dark, and beautiful this meticulously plotted series is.

Aditya:
Manifesto

Music from Album "Heroes" by Secession Studios

It's never a dull moment listening to their dark, atmospheric orchestral songs, which often start slow and end in a crescendo that stays with you long after the song has ended.
