Top Ten Podcasts to Keep Halloween Alive Year-Round

Sadly, the end of spoopy season is upon us. But don’t fret, Halloween fans! You can keep the season alive in your eardrums all year long with these incredible podcasts!

And while you’re at it, also subscribe to the podcasts run by some of our own contributors: Cassie and Becca (The Pikecast) and Rich (Staring into the Abyss) 

1. King Falls AM: @kingfallsam

Tune that radio dial to 660AM, and join Sammy, Ben, and all those weird King Falls residents as they navigate love, loss, possibly aliens, sometimes ghosts, definitely frog leg restaurants, and bass tournaments. With 100 episodes to date, there’s a good bit of atmospheric spooky drama to sink your teeth into.

2. Scarred For Life: @scarredpodcast

Mary, Beth and Terry bring on guests from horror media to discuss and deep-dive into their latest projects and what makes them tick. Of course, they also have to discuss why specific movies from the guest’s past still haunt their nightmares to this day.

Have you ever wondered what Japanese creepypasta are like? Tara A. Devlin is a wildly talented internet researcher and translator who goes to the depths of the internet to find all sorts of new and unusual stories to bring to you every week.

5. NIGHTLIGHT: A Horror Fiction Podcast: @nightlightpod

NIGHTLIGHT is a Black horror podcast, created by a Black woman, for Black writers of horror. The stories are beautifully narrated by voice actors, and the tales are creepy and eye-opening in the best of ways. Just go and listen already!

6. Dirty Little Horror: @DirtyHorrorPod

Not everything about horror movies needs to be horrifying. Sometimes you just really want to make dick jokes about what you just watched and debate if Kylie Minogue or Britney Spears would survive in that universe. Charles and Christopher are those friends, and the podcast feels like you’re sitting down next to them on the couch with some beer.

Join Liz as she navigates the suburbs and all the possible hauntings (and haunted people) it brings. She may not always fit in, but she’ll make sure to get the story no matter what. Are the stories real, or are they fiction? Either way, you’re sure to be creeped out and wonder what’s behind that closet door.

8. Goosebumps: Welcome to DeadCast: @irobotyoujane and @DanielMontgomery

You may think you’re a Goosebumps fan, but Terror Twins Matthew and Daniel most definitely have you beat! Join them as they re-read all the books and recap the TV show episodes while bursting into song and making as many pop culture references as they possibly can.

10. The Faculty of Horror: @facultyofhorror

What happens when you start analyzing horror from a feminist and sociological perspective? You start gaining new appreciation for old and new favorites, of course! Andrea and Alex deep dive into the films they cover with academic articles in addition to supplying their own theories and perspectives. This is essential horror film academia for hardcore fans who want to learn it all.
