If you are sending it for posting/reading by a specific date/event/season etc include that information our reviews can be scheduled accordingly to the best of our abilities. We do not guarantee a reviewer will be able to review/read/consume the media by that time, but we do make our best efforts.

A FEW NOTES

OF MERIT

Please Read Thoroughly

Failure to abide by our rules may result in your email being automatically deleted.

Physical copies of books or any other tangible product we receive is considered a gift, and will not be eligible to be returned to the sender, or have monies paid for that product/shipping & handling.  Sending physical books or other media does not guarantee a review either.

Due to the high volume of review requests we receive, we cannot and do not guarantee that your media will be accepted by a DHR Team Contributor for review.  We will do our best to distribute in a timely manner.  While we do assume the right to deny or refuse content, we do not discriminate based on gender, sex, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, etc.  All are welcome to submit.  Priority may be given to Own Voices submissions and marginalized creators if we have a high volume of content as this is the focus of our website/platform.

Each reviewer has a preferred book format, sub-genre(s) they tend to gravitate towards, so the more formats you are able to offer, the better chance you’ll have of our DHR Team Contributors accepting an ARC or Media for Review.

All of our DHR Team Contributors as well as our Admins are currently participating in reading, writing, viewing, and reviewing on a volunteer basis.   We do our best to ensure we accept as many submissions as possible, but it is worth noting your media is submitted for consideration; consideration or submission does not mean you are guaranteed to get a review.

The mental and physical health of our team comes first, and we will not push our team to review if they are not able to at any time.  This means we may sometimes deprioritize reviews, posting, or receipt of media due to personal reasons.  Please, take this into consideration and be kind and empathetic.

We are a fair, balanced, and unbiased platform and thus we do not and cannot guarantee your media will receive a positive review.  Negative reviews are equally as constructive and important as positive ones, and we’ve seen more than our fair share of books achieve positive momentum and sales even if negatively reviewed by members of this team. After all, no press is bad press!

We do not tolerate harassment, berating, or bullying of our reviewers.  Reviews are for readers/consumers and not to boost a creators’ ego.  The safety and well-being of our DHR Team Contributors and review colleagues are paramount.  If we are informed of you launching a smear campaign or bothering our reviewers for any reason, we will cease current promotional efforts as well as refuse to promote you in the future. This applies to anyone who exhibits malicious or salacious behavior towards our team, including but not limited to publishers, authors, filmmakers, creators.

We reserve the right to archive, remove/delete, or edit content on this website, including but not limited to reviews or guest spots or special features or other items, at any time without notice given. We reserve the right to do so as a direct response to any intolerable behavior towards our admins, teams, or other guests or any infractions of the above or otherwise listed policies elsewhere on our site.

DO NOT contact our reviewers by their personal email unless they have given you explicit consent.  Due to previous safety violations of personal space, bullying, and harassment, our Co-Admins prefer to be the liaison between our DHR Team Contributors and those submitting media for review.  We do our best to help mediate and monitor contact to ensure the safety of our team and friends. Please, respect this policy. Violating this will ensure you are no longer able to submit media for review.

DO NOT solicit our reviewers by their social media accounts unless they have given you explicit consent.  Although our DHR Team Contributors are often friendly or interact with folks frequently, their mentions and inboxes are not a free-for-all in which you can spam with requests.  Please, respect this policy. Violating this will ensure you are no longer able to submit media for review.

DO NOT use any of the addresses to our team members without their explicit consent for any reason.  This includes sending our DHR Team Contributors books without their express consent to receive media from you. Even if they’ve received a book from you before, you must submit following our guidelines if you wish your media to be considered and reviewed on our platform.  Likewise, we will not turn over addresses or personal details for our DHR Team Contributors without their express consent each and every time they accept a request for review.
