OUR ORIGIN STORY

Formerly known as β€œDead Head Reviews,” Divination Hollow Reviews has evolved from a small group of enthusiastic Horror Book Bloggers and Reviewers into a media site dedicated to highlighting Dark Fiction, True Crime, Fantasy, Science Fiction and Speculative Fiction, Horror, and more by diverse creators including but not limited to LGBTQ+, BIPOC, Latinx folks!

Dead Head Reviews began as a small group of cishet white dudes highlighting horror fiction. In late 2019 and early 2020, the blogging and review team expanded to include more members, adding several women reviewers to the roster.

In late 2020, the original administrators of the blog stepped down and the site began to change its dynamic and content coverage.

In 2021, under the management of a queer-women led team of admins, the website rebranded as Divination Hollow Reviews and took a new approach by shifting focus away from the status quo (a cishetero, white majority) and moving to coverage which reflected our diverse world.

Divination Hollow Reviews is now fully committed to amplifying marginalized voices, promoting historically underserved demographics, and increasing equity, inclusivity, and diversity in publishing and media.

We began by expanding the team in 2021 with a more diverse and inclusive group of team contributors from various backgrounds and identities, and sharing our platform with their voices and encouraging them to share their unique perspectives! As a result, we’ve been very proud to form beautiful friendships, partnerships, and community-wide relationships through special focus months, featured promo weeks, and other fun events.

We cannot wait to welcome new members into our spooky home, and look forward to meeting new friendly faces. Please feel free to drop-in and say hello at any time! Our metaphorical doors are always open, and we’d love to have you stop in for a cuppa.
