Book Review: Olivia’s Loving Threesome by Tamara Earthsong
Genre: Erotica
Age: 18+
Format: ebook
Olivia’s Loving Threesome is a novella following the titular Olivia, dipping her toes back into relationships after a break up, and the terminally horny married couple, Liam and Sana, she becomes involved with.
This book has no sharp corners or rough edges, it is without conflict or negative feelings, it is the fluffiest fluff, the purest escapism.
I cannot summarise the plot much further because it is essentially porn without plot. Olivia meets Liam and Sana when they are customers at the cafe she works for, they engage in a touch of exhibitionism, and lucky for them, she is intrigued. From then on, it is three people having fun and just loving each other.
When I say it is fluffy, that does not mean it doesn’t touch on any issues, Olivia and Sana are both portrayed as larger women and have realistic insecurities around their bodies. Olivia early on feels uncomfortable about displaying her stretch marks, and Liam and Sana (both approaching fifty) briefly have concerns about an older couple approaching a younger woman (Olivia is thirty-five, have no fear).
Ultimately, however, these concerns don’t matter because they are all crazy attracted to each other.
As well as polyamory, there are some elements of kink involved. I have already mentioned exhibitionism, but this is only in one chapter early on. There is also some very gentle BDSM, no whips or chains involved, but Liam softly doms both Sana and Olivia, and they all play with teasing and orgasm denial.
I would be lying if I said Olivia’s Loving Threesome blew my mind, but for what it is, I can’t fault it. It is a loving throuple and a small extended cast of friends, acquaintances, and playmates, who are all loving (as promised), attentive, and supportive of each other. It’s cosy and wholesome (if that’s the right word to use here), and while I personally prefer my erotica with a bit more bite to it, I have no doubt there’s a lot of folks out there who would thoroughly enjoy it. If it sounds like your speed, I encourage you to pick it up.
I downloaded this ebook for free during DHR’s Queer Your E-reader event.
