Dear Santa…

Dear Santa…

Dear Santa,

I hope this letter finds you well.

If what my mom says about you is true, then I am once again imploring you to disregard some of my behavior this year and proceed with sending some gifts my way.

Before I progress to my wish list, this would be a good time to confirm whether or not your elves even make books. In the movies, they are always making lame-ass looking wooden trains and crap like that.

Anyhow, I will just assume that elves can manufacture books.

PS: I still owe you for that sweet ass drumset!!

List enclosed:

Human-Shaped Fiends by Chandler Morrison. Because all of Morrison's books are good.

All Flesh is Grass by Clifford Simak. Because Mastodonia is one of the best sf books ever written.

Only the Stains Remain by Ross Jeffrey. Because Juniper was excellent.

The Night Stockers by Kristopher Triana and Ryan Harding. Because I think it has death metal in it.

Ring Shout by P Djeli Clark. Because I think it won all of the awards.

Into the Miso Soup by Ryu Murakami. Because this guy wrote Audition.

Piercing by Ryu Murakami. Because the guy that wrote Audition deserves all of my money.

Nausea by Jean-Paul Sartre. Because Edward Lee said it's good.

The Call by Peadar O'Guilin. Because Ginger Nuts of Horror said that it's better than Sarah Pinborough's The Death House. We both know that isn't possible, but the people at that website are pretty smart.

Something Rich and Strange by Ron Rash. Because everyone says Rash is amazing, and I'm tired of not having an opinion about it.

14 by Peter Clines. Because my friend said it's really good. Even though he lies a lot.

A Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula K Le Guin. Because a character in Stranger Things was reading it in one episode.

The Stars My Destination by Alfred Bester. Because good sf sometimes makes me feel smart.

This is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar. Just in case that other sf book made me feel dumb.

Praise the Human Season by Don Robertson. Because it looks like it could make me cry. I don't know why I'm like this.

Once in Every Life by Kristin Hannah. Because I need more ammo in my quest to make others read Kristin Hannah.

Thanks again for the drumset!!
