For the next 7 days, the DHR blog is handing over the spotlight to author S.H. Cooper to celebrate the publication of her short story anthology “All That’s Fair.” Get to know S.H. Cooper by following her online and checking out her Top Fave horror movies and books below!

S.H. Cooper is a writer of short stories, novels, and novellas in the Horror and Fantasy genres. Did you know she also has several threads of stories on Reddit’s NoSleep thread? Check it out by clicking here. She is also the co-creator of the “Calling Darkness Podcast” and you can listen to that by clicking here.

Five horror movies I enjoy in no particular order:

  1. The Woman In Black (it's just a good story, ok?)

  2. Crimson Peak

  3. It

  4. The Grudge

  5. Stir of Echoes

Ok, five horror (adjacent?) books I enjoy in no particular order:

  1. The Woman In Black by Susan Hill

  2. American Gods by Neil Gaiman

  3. The Shining by Stephen King

  4. Peony in Love by Lisa See (it's not really horror, but deals with 19th century Chinese afterlife and does have some very mild spooky-ish parts)

  5. The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman (a short story yes, but damned if being a woman locked in a room to "rest" ain't some messed up shit)

Every time you buy one of S.H. Cooper’s books, Pippin will get a treat and a head pat. Therefore if everyone buys the whole collection of books, he will get AT LEAST 5 cookies and 5 pets.Don’t you want this good boy to have lots of snacks and scritch…
