Welcome to Worldwide Horror

As the monsters are tucked up in bed with bellies full of snacks, as costumes are carefully washed and put away and the Halloween decorations are taken down, as we enter November, we once again turn our attention to our annual Birthday Bash. Our birthday marks an important time in DHR’s story, when the site was rebranded and our mission emerged - to promote horror and related genres, and especially those voices that have historically been overlooked. The site has been through many changes since then, but our key goals remain the same. We love horror here, and our birthday allows us to celebrate various aspects of the genre and dark fiction.

There may be some out there who remember our original name and website, but we feel we quickly grew out of that shadow and Divination Hollow Reviews stands on its own. Our team has also changed over the years, with a few of the ‘old guard’ remaining, but our core has never shifted from that initial goal.

So, what do we mean by Worldwide Horror?

This month, we will be primarily celebrating horror that is not in English, or has been translated into English, and from outside the USA and UK. There might be some works that come from these areas, however, and some discussion of horror within those regions, but the larger focus will be from other parts of the world and languages that aren’t English.

We’re very excited about what our contributors have for you this month, and if you inspired to join us, there are a couple of ways you can do so!

If you like what we do and think you'd like to join our team as a contributor, you can find out more - including how to join - at the 'Join Our Team' link at the top of the page. If you'd specifically like to talk about Worldwide Horror and contribute to our birthday event, please feel free to contact us! We would absolutely love to hear from you.

Or simply sat back, enjoy the offerings we have this month, and go check out the films, books and more we’re promoting. You can always leave us a comment, too.

Thank you to everyone who has in any way been part of our journey so far, and we hope you enjoy our Worldwide Horror Birthday Event.
