This directory is for paid author services - services can be anything authors might wish to use to assist in publishing their book, including (but not limited to) editing, cover design, sensitivity reading, graphics, formatting, organising book tours, etc.

Join the Directory
For the purposes of the DHR Directory, ‘services’ are anything an author might use and pay for to assist with their work. We primarily expect this to be used by authors self-publishing, but there are some services other authors might wish to use, too. This includes (but is not limited to) editing, cover design, sensitivity reading, graphics (social media etc), formatting, organising book tours, publicists, etc. As a reminder, DHR is focused on promoting margenalised voices within horror, dark fiction and non-fiction (including and again not limited to True Crime, History, Horror Non-Fiction, etc). We’re very flexible by what we mean about dark fiction, so as long as you work in something that falls under our very large umbrella, you’re welcome to sign up. If you offer multiple services, we ask you submit one form per service.
Please ensure the website you link to contains clear information about the service you’re offering. If we are unable to see relevant information (services, how to contact, etc) you will not be added to the directory. We also ask that anyone who signs up to our directory adheres to our Code of Conduct. You are welcome to contact us if you have any queries, concerns or feedback.
Once you have submitted the form, please do not email to chase/follow up - we will contact you as soon as we able to review your submission and to advise on next steps or confirm you have been added to the directory. The form may be amended as we go on, as this is a new feature to the DHR site and we expect there to be some adjustments over time. We will close the form if we find we have a lot of entries to review, but will note the status of the form here and on the form itself.
