Women in Horror Month: Jason’s WIHM Reading List!

Jason’s WIHM Reading List!

I have a long history of reading women horror writers. In fact, women have a 2-year winning streak for my favorite book of the year: 2020 was Betty by Tiffany McDaniel and 2021 was The Last House on Needless Street by Catriona Ward. Furthermore, my favorite book of the decade (2010-2020) was Sarah Pinborough's Death House (you just HAVE to read that one).

So, I know that all the cool kids would just take a picture of this stack of books, and then post on social media. Come to think of it, that would also be faster.

But I'm not cool, so I'm not doing that.

Here are my projected reads for Women in Horror Month:

The Glass Hotel by Emily St. John Mandel. The next one from the author of Station Eleven.

The Little Stranger by Sarah Waters. Because I'm tired of all of you telling me to read it.

Her Body and Other Parties by Carmen Maria Machado. Stop bothering me, I promise to read it in March.

Her Three Lives by Cate Holahan. Was gifted this one, and I'm taking a chance.

Hollow Kingdom by Kira Jane Buxton. If you look closely, there are animals on the cover. soo...*shrug*

Crave by Tracy Wolff. Universal bought the rights before it was even released. I was curious.

Jar of Hearts by Jennifer Hillier. Award-winning thriller from an author that I really like.

I will be doing a follow-up article after I read all of these, in which I will rate and rank all of them.
