Here is a list of Welsh Horror films coming out soon! Big budget, indie B-movies, and films I found down the back of the sofa.

Welsh Ghost Story (2026) dir. Louisa Warren.

A group of students carry out an investigation into the murder of a lonely farmer, Edwyn Morris, and the subsequent paranormal events that have occurred after his death. During their investigation, it becomes clear that something sinister is lurking in the details of the murder and there is much more to Edwyn’s history than originally meets the eye. As they delve deeper into the paranormal investigation, they soon realise that they themselves are at risk, and are to become part of an investigation where they are the victims.

The Scurry (2026) dir. Craig Roberts.

Horror-comedy creature feature with angry squirrels. Filmed at Dragon Studios in Bridgend, starring Rhys Ifans and Ella Purnell. Chaos erupts at an eco-café when a horde of deranged squirrels seeks revenge on the staff and visitors, forcing two summoned pest controllers to face the onslaught. Do not confuse this with Scurry (2024), a creature feature that does not involve deranged squirrels, and was definitely not filmed in Bridgend.

Stuffed (2026?) dir. Theo Rhys.

This one doesn’t have a release date yet but it’s Rhys’s first feature film, and it’s a horror-musical-romantic comedy, expanding on his award-winning short film of the same name. It stars Harry Melling and Jodie Comer. A taxidermist named Araminta (Comer) seeks to preserve a human specimen when Bernie (Melling) volunteers himself. Their unusual arrangement evolves into an unexpected love story.

Rabbit Trap (US release 2025) dir. Bryn Chainey

Rabbit Trap had its UK release on 30 January 2026, starring Dev Patel and Rosy McEwan. When a musician and her husband move to a remote house in Wales, the music they make disturbs local ancient folk magic, bringing a nameless child to their door who is intent on infiltrating their lives.

Other Forthcoming Welsh Horror to Watch Out For:

Unspeakable, (TBC), dir. Corinna Faith.

A new mother's shame over feeling no connection to her baby attracts an ancient evil, forcing her into a desperate battle to save her child.

This was picked up to be one of the four Nordic-UK collaborative projects chosen by the Focus on the UK programme in 2024, and there doesn’t seem to be much about it other than in the linked article, where it is listed. Its Welsh connections include the fact it is financed by the Ffilm Cymru Wales Feature Film Production Fund via the National Lottery (delegated via Arts Council of Wales) and Creative Wales, has a Welsh producer, Elwen Rowlands, and is backed by Little Door production company, which is Wales-based.
