Book Review: Sam Hain by Hamid Amirani
I fancied reading something completely different, so when I read the blurb for this book I knew this was going to take me out of my comfort zone.
Main character Sam Hain is a P.I. in San Francisco. Mike is a demon with his own ways of punishing the human race. When Sam is asked to investigate a murder in a sleepy town, it starts a chain of events that will have you hiding under the covers.
Victim number one found in a tumble dryer and believe me, the deaths get more grizzly and bloody as the book goes along. After 5 minutes I was completely hooked - yes there were times when I had to give my eyes and brain a break but the lure of this book had me hooked.
This book had so many good points. Every part of this book I could easily picture, the town was described in so much detail that I could see every part of it. The characters were well developed, thought out and plotted. There was a good mixture of personalities, and the dialogue was realistic. Even the supporting cast played their part.
And there was so much sarcasm.
The pacing of the book was fast and there were many twists and turns.
The character Mike - a demon - actually came across really well, and had some of the best scenes.
I enjoyed every second of this book and after reading the last page it looks like another book is on the way, and I can hardly wait.
